What is your favorite shape of diamond for your engagement ring?

I am getting a different center stone for my engagement ring, because everyone has round or princess diamonds and I want something different I was thinking emerald, pear, or maybe ever heart shaped.

Whats your favorite shaped diamond and why???|||my favorite shape for a diamond ring would be Heart and star.

Jewelocean|||My personal favorites are asscher and cushion.

I like the square shape, but am not particularly partial to the sharp corners on a princess. Its the same reason I don't like marquise shape, I don't like the edges. I find that round is super popular because you get lots of fire out of it. Pear, heart, are cute, but can be difficult to find a matching band, because of the odd shapes.

Make sure you go to lots of stores and try on different rings, to see how it actually looks on your hand. Plus, who doesn't love trying on jewelry? Its so much fun.

Good luck :)|||I love Heart and Pear!

I have a 2ct Pear with a Pave setting I haven't seen one person even with a pear diamond ring, pear adn heart are uniquely beautiful!|||Much is down to individual preference, of course, but one way to look at it is to analyse what the different shapes offer. For example, round cuts and princess cuts are cut for sparkle. Other shapes such as asscher cuts and emerald cuts, for example, have fewer facets, and so take on more of a stylish look and finish....if that's the way you see diamonds which don't sparkle......as they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."|||I love the pear and the heart. The pear is unique yet classic and the heart is so unique also and romantic in my opinion. The pear appears larger though.|||pear|||I like the classic round brilliant.

Of the more unique shapes, I like a pear.|||My fave is princess, but I also like star shape. My ma had a heart-shaped amethyst for hers, and it was really pretty.|||marquise....very slim and elegant|||Emerald is my favorite, followed by asscher and cushion. (I have an emerald).

Good luck

PS/ Don't go with heart, they are so juvenile, yikes. I personally dislike heart, pear and marquise. I'm neutral about round, I find princess to be too common for my tastes.|||I don't wear diamonds that often as I am not overly fond of them..I prefer colored exotic gemstones. However I do have champagne diamonds-as accent stones.

I have oval shaped garnets and citrines, an oval canary....an oval and a square cut prasiolite...an emerald cut prasiolite, pear shaped peridots, and oval opal,a cluster ring of marquise shaped peridots and one of garnets......to name a few.

The only cut I don't care for is cabachons-except for my pieces of baltic amber, my moonstones and my turquoise. Any cut that displays the beauty of the stone works for me.|||I like round, with side stones. I have 3 round stones in the middle, princess cut I guess, with 3 smaller stones on each side in a triangle shape with 3 more smaller stones on each side in the band. I love it! I haven't seen anyone with one like it, even though it's round.|||Favorite shape is Asscher which is what my ring is. I love that the corners aren't sharp and that the stone looks unique. It's another option to a less common shape that will work easier with a wedding band. I love that people ask me about it pretty much every day b/c they've never seen or heard of the cut.|||I love marquis diamonds, and emerald too.

pear is ok, but heart shaped diamonds just look like a 12 year old's ring! No offense!|||Personally I love princess cut! Next to this I'd go for cushion cut.

I think a heart is a little tacky for an engagement ring and emerald and asscher cuts don't catch the light and sparkle as well as cushion.

Ultimately though, all diamonds are beautiful and the colour and quality are just as important as the cut.|||I absolutely love Emerald Cuts :)

My hubby doesn't so he compromised and got a cushion cut stone, which is beautiful.|||For a long time I figured my favorite or preference for an engagement ring would be a marquise shape, however by the time I actually became engaged, my style/preference had changed, my engagement ring is a bridal set and the diamonds %26amp; sapphires in it are princess cut.
