Would you buy a diamond over the internet?

I'm looking for a diamond engagement ring. I've seen some decent deals and unique styles at various sites on the internet. Which sites are legit? It's hard to see the true clarity over the net. As long as they're certified, am I ok?|||I remember reading an article in the newspaper about a reporter who bought a diamond from Bluenile.com and various wholesalers in the jewelry district here in Chi-town. They discovered that the quality of the stones from Bluenile.com was better and they got it for a really good price. And, if you don't like it, you can send it back.

" Our 30-day return policy gives you plenty of time to consider your purchase.

If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return any item without custom engraving in its original condition within 30 days of the date of shipment for a refund or an exchange. It's that simple. "

If you want it engraved, do it after you receive it.|||I would be leary of it. I would want to see the clarity of the diamond first.|||absolutly not|||i wouldnt. go to the store and buy it. then u dont have to pay shipping, or worry about it getting lost threw the mail.|||I would be careful, expecially on sites like e-bay. Then stores like diamonds international would probobly be okay. Still, i would recommend buying it face-to-face from the store.|||noo i wouldnt ever!|||dont....but they do have OUTLET STORES...like the zales outlet and diamond outlets. try going to one of those|||sure, i feel more comfortable going to a Jewelers, but if you find a good deal, they go for it!!! Good Luck!! :) :) :) :)|||i wouldnt bcuz sometimes they can trick you or something

nd in stores its cheaper|||ask the person to scratch against glass and see if it cuts it if it does buy it cus that means it's real.|||i might if i know that the site is reputable (certificate, etc), has all the stats right there (cut, clarity, color, carats), if i can return it, etc.

for example, I'd hesitate if it were ebay, but might consider de beers.

however, shopping for jewelry is i think one of the most awesome experiences, so unless im really strapped for time or its some strange circumstance, id rather surround myself with all those sparkly stones in real life than gaze and critique from afar.|||I did at uniondiamond.com. Just the diamond. They beat any deal I could get locally. GIA certification is considered the best. EGL grades a little soft on color. I would look for a 30 day return policy and also look locally to see what the difference is between E color and H color for example.

www.bluenile.com is another site I would trust.
