I asked about the diamond's origin, but the only information I was given was that it was cut in Israel. Are diamond's imported into the USA verified in any way as being conflict-free?|||I think unless it specifically says it's not a blood diamond, you shouldn't buy it...|||who cares. what does it matter where it came from. you have far too much of an easy life to worry about such a pathetic thing. if your that bothered go an live in a war zone as an aid worker|||Demand more information (nicely of course.) If you don't get enough information to satisfy you that it isn't a conflict diamond, then go somewhere else.
If you are really worried about the social and environmental implications of current mining practices, you could always look into buying an antique diamond. Think of it as a kind of recycling.|||hi,
if you buy the diamond form a repeatable jeweler it is most likely a "clean" diamond. basically you can not bring diamonds to the usa without a certificate of the kimberly process. Kimberly cert it is a document that stats the origen of the diamond . all this on the wholesale level.
if you want to be absolutely sure that you are buying a clean diamond, ask for a Canadian diamond with certificate this cert will give you the piece of mine that this diamond was mined %26amp; polished in Canad.
